The DVD of filmed events during the Festival of Bowls Week celebrating the club's centenary had a preview showing to club members at the Presentation Evening on Saturday 21st October and was well received.Many copies were purchased by members at a nominal price of £5 to cover cost of materials etc.Copies are still available.Members have now seen the quality of my work.I still have dates available to come and film that Family Wedding at a very modest cost.Go to previous post headed YOUR WEDDING CAPTURED posted 25th August 2006 for detalis of this service.

Planning - is to your requirements as far as practible and includes a visit to venue prior to the wedding day to make sure everything is covered.

Filming - by an experienced videographer who has had many of his films screened on Meridian Television and operates with two cameras to capture every moment at different angles.

Editing - this includes adding appropriate music,Titles and enhancing transitions to make a visual record that you,your family and your friends will enjoy watching.

Presentation - The finished production is provided on DVD as standard or,if you prefer VHS.It will be packaged in a padded,velvet lined presentation case with gold or silver embossed Title.

Maidstone Bowling Club Centenary

The video of the Centenary Celebrations covering the Festival of Bowls Week is now completed and due to be shown to all members at the Presentation Evening in October.This provides all members,those clubs and associations who joined the celebrations also the many friends who attended with a valuable memory of the enjoyable time had by all.

Camera Technique      

I shoot at a range of heights and angles :I hold each shot a little longer than may be required and then either split the scene or crop to make inserts :I never zoom in or out during a shot - zoom then record then zoom again : constantly aware of backlight and using White balance : shots are always framed with care avoiding background poles sticking out of heads:the inclusion of fast action shots helps to create variety : the use of manual focus is an added asset.

Editing Technique

Once captured frames are placed on the storyline editing starts in earnest -frames are cropped to the normal 3 to 5 seconds unless panning has been used : repositioning frames out of the sequence of recording often adds to the continuity; shots of interesting places visited are enhanced with the use of 'cross disolve' transition between each: added music (copyright free) suitably selected makes a good Home Movie presentation. FREESCREEN - WE MISS YOU

It was a sad day when this early morning programme closed down.Many video enthusiasts who enjoyed producing good standard short films to be screened on TV miss this outlet for their work.It provided the opportunity to display their films and through the comments made by the FreeScreen production team it provided an excellent platform to improve techniques.

Meridian,please bring it back and this enthusiast can add to the many films that have been shown.To mention a few.WOOLY BUSINESS-LAKESIDE SCENES-PERIOD PLAYTIME- CRAFT ATTRACTION-BREEZE INTO BLOOM-FISH EYE FOCUS-RAILROAD THROUGH THE ROCKIES-CARNIVAL TIME IN NICE-HOUSEBOATS ON THE RIVER MURRAY-ORANGE SQUASH WITH LEMONS-  It is hoped to have these available for viewing on a website so watch for information.
